Cathodic Protection |
Cathodic protection (CP) is a technique to control the corrosion of a metal surface by making that surface the cathode of an electrochemical cell. It is a method used to protect metal structures from corrosion. Cathodic protection systems are most commonly used to protect steel, water and fuel pipelines and storage tanks; steel pier piles, ships, offshore oil platforms and onshore oil well casings. A side effect of improperly performed cathodic protection may be production of molecular hydrogen, leading to its absorption in the protected metal and subsequent hydrogen embrittlement. Cathodic protection is an effective method of preventing stress corrosion cracking. |

Construction Services |
ELK Engineering conducts corrosivity analysis and provides corrosion control designs with the goal of assisting architects and engineers in the design of structures that both stand the test of time and minimize operation and maintenance costs. Additionally, ELK Engineering provides testing, monitoring, and maintenance of existing corrosion control systems and can help agencies minimize their risk for corrosion failures by establishing annual monitoring and maintenance programs. |

Corrosion Engineering |
Our mission at ELK Engineering is to provide the highest quality services, on and off-shore, on projects across the range of size and technical requirement. We work globally via direct and subcontract arrangements, and of course in line with all industry standards. |
Electrical Engineering |
ELK Engineering can provide you with complete Electrical Engineering services that include conceptual design, cost estimating, specification development for procurement, detailed engineering, procurement and bid evaluation. We have the ability to integrate the initial technical and financial feasibility with the conceptual design and cost estimates in order to allow evaluation of the concept prior to starting the detailed design engineering. We help our customers make the right initial decisions to ensure that every project is successful and cost-effective with unsurpassed quality. |

Forensic Services |
Elk provides a wide range of forensic support and investigatory services to the legal profession. We employ both in-house and ex-house experts to provide these services. |
Pipeline Integrity |
ELK has positioned itself to act as the Integrity Management (IM) Department for small to medium sized pipeline systems who do not wish to establish an IM staff in-house. We can offer any or all of the following services in support of each pipeline company's in-house activities. |
